I have a front end loader on my jd4600 with dual srv. I have ordered a kit to install another srv in order to control the top link on my 3 pt hitch. Has anyone installed this3rd srv on their tractor? I was wondering if there is much to installing this yourself. I'm thinking of doing it myself if not too dificult.Thanks in advanceNorm

I haven’t done it, but I have distilled a lot of information. From a kit, installation should be straightforward, even with minimal instructions. I don't know if the kit contains quick connects, but they're probably desirable, as well as 45-degree swivel fittings for the rear hoses. If you want these things, and the kit doesn't contain them, then it's a good to make sure you have all fittings, adapters etc. before starting installation. For any plumbing, I tend to loosely screw and connect all parts together on a bench before mounting anything just to make sure all the pieces are there and fit together. Hydraulic fittings are best put together with a sealant. There are specific liquid sealants available. If you use Teflon tape, be sure not to over-wrap the threads. For the plumbing, it should be pretty much a matter of keeping track of the existing hoses. I'm guess that the existing and new SCV assemblies are both 3-hose systems, and the installation is just a 'plug-in' job. You don’t have to worry about air, bleeding lines etc. The main thing is to keep track of the input or high pressure (P) line, the high pressure return or power beyond (PB) hose and the low pressure return or tank (T) hose. The hose ID’s are usually stamped somewhere on valve assemblies. However, there is one thing to check. I imagine that a dealer kit would be supplied with an open centre. Many valves work with both open and closed centre systems, and are supplied with a closed centre plug. The plug must be removed for use on an open centre system. ....

I ordered my 4300 this the 3rd scv on it for the same perpose. My dealer installed it, I my case it was a good thing, there were som e small parts missing from the kit. How ever you can install it your self, it just takes alittle time. Instructions say to drill a hole in the fender to run the cable through, the service mannager did not like that idea. He looped it around the fender and replaced the bolt with a longer one (bottom rear bolt that holds the fender on) and used a cable clamp. You need to remove the seat and right rear tire. A pic would help alot, if you want one let me know.

Has anyone ever installed a rear SCV kit on a TC25-33? (I know that I'm in wrong are -but same subject) I got a price of $250 from my dealer that includes everything including hoses with quick-attach ends. He says that the TC's are all set up for it. I would hope for good directions & diagrams to be included. I'm no mechanical geneous, but have a little general mechanical know-how (not much regarding hydraulics) & a trace of common sense. Can a simple "Buckeye" do this? ....
